NTIS objectives

To collect, collect, store, organise, analyse and evaluate personal data of travellers and tourists, and data, information and documents on tourism resources, as well as to provide related public services.

NTIS tasks and functions

The goal of NTIS is to implement working advanced electronic services related to the accumulation, systematisation and publication of data on tourism resources in the Republic of Lithuania and the process of registration and accounting of tourists.

Functions:

Collect, compile and manage data on tourism resources in Lithuania;

Ensure the availability of data on tourism resources in Lithuania;

Collect, store and process data about tourists;

Publish data on Lithuania’s tourism resources and de-personalised tourist data;
05
Exchange data with other national registers and information systems.
The National Tourism Information System is one of the measures identified in the Lithuanian tourism development guidelines, which aims to enable and accelerate the transformation of the tourism sector by integrating and opening up tourism sector data. The implementation of this measure is foreseen in Task 1.12 of the National progress plan ‘Increase the competitiveness of Lithuanian tourism’, which addresses the 11th problem – the untapped tourism potential.
